Billing & overage
Open Dashboard → Settings → Billing to monitor usage against your plan and manage your subscription. The same usage data also appears in the Plan & Usage tab of Analytics.
Viewing usage
The Current Plan & Quota card shows:
- Billing Period — the start and end dates of the current cycle.
- Days Remaining — days left before the quota resets.
- Next Reset — the date your message count returns to zero.
- Projected Exhaustion — if your current pace will use up the allowance early, the date you'll hit the limit; otherwise it reads On track.
Below the dates, a Messages progress bar shows used vs. limit. It turns amber at 80% ("Consider upgrading your plan") and red at 100%. A Tokens bar appears when a token limit applies. Two stat cards show Messages (30d) and Conversations (30d).

When you hit the limit
When you reach your monthly message allowance, the quota is marked exceeded and your chatbot is paused until the next reset — the widget stops replying and the Billing page shows a red Monthly quota exceeded banner.
To keep answering past the limit, enable overage billing. With overage on, the bot keeps responding and extra messages are tracked separately and billed at a per-message overage rate (default $0.02 per message). The quota card reports overage messages used and the accrued overage cost.
⚠️ If overage billing is off, the chatbot stays paused until the period resets or you upgrade. There is no partial service.
Per-conversation cost
Promptly tracks token usage and an estimated cost per billing period. Each plan also carries a monthly cost ceiling. Your effective cost per conversation depends on message length, model, and how much knowledge or catalog context each answer pulls in — see Languages & cost tracking for how token cost is measured and how to keep it down.
Changing your plan
Use the Upgrade Plan button (or the Manage billing / View plans links on the Plan & Usage tab) to move to a higher tier. Upgrading raises your message allowance and unlocks tier-gated features immediately. For the full feature-by-tier breakdown, see Plans & limits.
