Customizing the widget
The Widget Customizer controls how your chat widget looks and behaves on your website. Open it from Dashboard → Widget. The screen is a split view: a settings panel on the left and a Live Preview on the right that updates as you edit — no save required to see changes.

Style preset
At the top, pick one of three presets that set the overall look:
- Minimalist — clean, flat design
- Modern — rounded, warm feel (default)
- Corporate — professional, structured
The preset changes shapes, borders and spacing; you tune the colors separately below.
Colors
Set the Primary, Bot Bubble, User Bubble, and Background colors individually with the color pickers, or click a ready-made entry in the palette picker to apply a coordinated set at once. Picking a palette also drives the header background and text colors.
Branding
Upload a Logo and an Avatar (max 2 MB each — they are stored on the CDN). Set the Bot Name (default "Promptly Assistant"), and toggle Show "Powered by Promptly" on or off.
Behavior
- Welcome Message — the first message visitors see (saved to your tenant settings).
- Position — Bottom Right or Bottom Left.
- Sound Notifications — play a chime on new messages (see Sounds & accessibility).
- Quick Replies — preset suggestion buttons shown at the start of a chat.
UX Features
- Product Card Layout — Vertical, Carousel, or Grid. See Product card layouts.
- Allow Chat Resize — shows an expand button in the chat header.
- Escalation Button — shows a "Talk to human" button in the header.
Saving
Use Save Changes to persist your configuration, or Reset to Default to discard edits and restore the starting values. After saving, install or refresh the widget on your site — see Embedding the widget.

Master on/off switch
The customizer styles the widget but does not enable it. The master switch is Dashboard → Settings → Widget enabled. If that toggle is off, the widget will not load on your site regardless of how it is styled.
